“The Sexy Six” (aka Grúpa Choláiste na Coiribe) 17/03/99
We had a great teacher, Treasa Ní Cheannabháin, who organised a massive
fundraising concert for the school and had enough faith in a few loony
young musicians to put us up on stage. Meas.

World Music Hall, Wesleyan University, USA 30/10/04
What do you do when you’re homesick in America? You, like, totally get
your Dad a gig, of course! ;) We managed to sell out the World Music
Hall on a dreary November Tuesday night...noice!!

Snowblink 4/11/06
I played with the wondrous smoky-voiced Daniela and her all-boy back-up singers.

Ebony Singers’ Winter Concert 6/12/04
There’s no explanation for my love for rockin’, choral, preachin’ gospel; it’s just one of those things…

Anthony Braxton Small Ensemble, 8/12/04
There’s nothing as cool as a harp, except for maybe a bass saxophone…
and there’s nothing as cool as a free jazz legends, except for free
jazz legends who are as positive, encouraging and “come-all-ye” as
Anthony Braxton. I nominate him for the “Joe Burke” award. ;)

Gamelan and Konakkol Performance 25/05/05
Claire Stratford, the queen of persuasion, had almost thirty
participants in her final year concert, including a special guest all
the way from Canada. She also wheedled me into singing Javanese gamelan
for it…if the ethnomusicology doesn’t work out, she can always go into
international diplomacy!

Corfhéile Inis Oírr, 17/03/06
This was one of the coolest gigs I’ve ever done – in every sense of the
word!! I got to play with the chill-down-spine-inspiring Deirdre Ní
Chinnéide, and I got to play with the funky ógsters from Inis Oírr, and
I got to play on the most exposed, westernly lump of rock in the
Atlantic. Outside. Note gloves. (kindly donated by one of the kidz!)

“The Magic of Ireland” Autumn European Tour, 03/10/06
Five countries, five weeks, loads of schnitzel and craic. We love Denmark, Ritter Sport and Mika.
